I added the group Slow Money Alliance

Looks like great principals, at least ones that I can go with. This came highly recommended as a movement that seems to fit the Corvallis and mid-valley region as it relates to shop local, buy local, grow local, eat local etc. Green is very green here but it takes a new way of looking at local investing. We do have several opportunities including the Willamette Angel Conference (WAC). Last year we held the 1st WAC at the CH2M Hill alumni center on the campus of OSU. This year it will be held in… Continue

This month it was held at the Corner Cafe and they had a no host pizza gathering and David Eckert from Corvallis one of the local rain harvesting experts was presenting how easy and inexpensive it is to do. Great program and about 25 to 30 folks were make more aware of a small step we all need to think about as it relates to water and our water collection and use. It just makes sense. Thanks to Loyan for helping me get signed up for the Willamette Bioscience Group here at the WIN network. Glad to see Mary Foley is controlling the "invites" and good to see the membership growing by leaps and bounds. With the old Ning becwvbic.ning.com site and the OBA's official site we should have the internet covered with great discussion, opportunities and information flowing. Now, if we can just turn the words into dollars and create some traded-sector, family wage jobs and turn this down… Continue

Bill Lunch at City Club today

Posted on October 12, 2009 at 6:47pm 0 Comments

Bill did his normal GREAT job summarizing the results of the election this year by building from the Presidential election on down to the results for Oregon. I counted about 65 of the local movers and shakers in attendance. It was nice to have the city manager Jon Nelson at our table. I was shocked and surprised to learn that about only 10% of any population were that interested and involved in politics. What a shame! Bill highlighted the winners and loser in the session. Higher education… Continue

Which vote are you referring to? I agree with all you said about EZs. I believe they are a good tool and continue to support them. So if there is a confusion, I want to clear it up.
