Regional Position Statement on ED and Our Innovation Economy

WiN is hosting the first-ever attempt to pull together our many different local leaders in economic development to craft a position statement around the area's innovation economy. This will help foster a focused context through which people can understand the value and uniqueness of the region's thriving and creative community of innovation, entrepreneurship and economic development.

Last week's meeting was a success in moving forward to identifying key components to include in a positions statement focused on highlighting our area's Innovation Economy. The assembled participants were able to review thoughts and concerns about issues impacting economic development in this area and how we can best highlight and focus on those things that compel businesses and people to move and stay in Corvallis and the area. The highlights include five main areas: Entrepreneurship, Quality of Life, Rich and Deep Research, a Collaborative Community, and that Pioneering, problem-solving, get-it-done spirit of Oregon. OSU's Gary Dulude will create a working draft of a statement for the group to fine tune.
