Why is the event name being changed after all these years?
The concept of innovation transcends all industry boundaries, and while “High Tech After Hours” has brand recognition, it’s association with software and IT became a stumbling block in our efforts to be more inclusive and expand the venue to showcase achievements across other industries.
What do you think the new name should be? Cast your vote. Or a different idea? Please share it with us in the discussion below.

Permalink Reply by Loyan Roylance on July 6, 2009 at 10:10am But to me HTAH is about innovation, but its as much about connections...What about Corvallis Tech Connect ? Valley leaves me cold..Willamette or Benton does better. Are we doing outreach to Linn and Lane and Lincoln to join in? or would Benton or Corvallis do? What other industries are you targeting?

Permalink Reply by Brian Weldon on July 15, 2009 at 1:04pm We had a lively discussion last night at the HTAH committee meeting about a new event name, with an enthusiastic consensus around using the WIN acronym standing for something like:
Willamette Innovational Networking Event (Wine 09)
Willamette Innovation NetEvent (WIN)
Willamette Innovate Now
Willamette Innovation Nation
We decided to try to come-up suggestions around the WIN acronym and pick the best by Wed. 7/15, so we could get on with promoting the event.
After sleeping on it, it occurred to me we could have a Win-Win situation by calling the event:
Willamette Innovators Night.
And the partners, sponsors, exhibitors, committees, management, promoters, associated groups and attendees would be members in the Willamette Innovators Network. We could change our community site to winwin.ning or winwin.net, or something like that.
Win-Win
Willamette Innovators Night
Willamette Innovators Network
Innovation in the Valley - it's a Win-Win - good for business and good for community.
